Topic: Status of Software Collections?

What’s the relationship between the Software Collections packages available from here versus the ones at https://www.softwarecollections.org/en/ … rh-php71/?  Should I expect them to be essentially the same?  I noticed that the packages at softwarecollections.org are out of date and have known security vulnerabilities, which surprised me.

Thanks.

Re: Status of Software Collections?

softwarecollection provides official collections from RHSCL, and some additional community ones.

=> https://blog.remirepo.net/post/2017/02/ … -for-RHSCL (especially the 1st comment)

Official collections (RHSCL) are maintained using the same process than RHEL

my repository provide more packages, more updates and more versions (e.g. 7.2, 7.3) and is used as upstream for new official collections

my packages have different name (php71 vs rh-php71) and different installation tree (/opt/remi vs /opt/rh)

Laptop:  Fedora 38 + rpmfusion + remi (SCL only)
