Topic: Lack of .repo files in remi-release-8.rpm and remi-release-9.rpm

Hi,

  I'm doing some tests in order to upgrade the server farm from CentOS 7 to Oracle Linux 8 or 9 which are compliant whit RHEL. I notice that remi-release packages for RHEL 8 and 9 leak of remi-phpXX.repo files.

  I used remi-phpXX.repo files in CentOS 7 in order to install a specific php version and upgrade it without having different phpXX-php packages for each version. Indeed when I want to upgrade the php version I enable the upper repository and disable the others and then I launch yum update.

  In 8 and 9 remi release these repository file are absent even if the repositories exist (i.e. https://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/9/ … epoview/): is changed something for last Remi releases?

Thank you,

Roberto

This is expected.
EL >= 8 use modules

For a proper repository configuration and package installation, see the wizard instructions (link on top right of all pages)

Thank you Remi!

I see that Enterprise Linux 9 repository is in a development state. Have you got a prevision when it can be used in a production environment?

Re: Lack of .repo files in remi-release-8.rpm and remi-release-9.rpm

At the beginning of this page https://rpms.remirepo.net/enterprise/9/ i see these phrases:

"Enterprise Linux 9 - RHEL 8 (Plow) and Clones"

"This is a development release."

Am I wrong?

Thanks.

I forgot to remove the message at this place: done.

FYI: the repository was ready since RHEL-9 was officially released.
