Topic: mysqld --with-big-tables : binary for F11?

Dear All,

I'm hitting one of the myISAM engine built-in limit : the maximum number of records is 4.5 10^9 (http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/ … ngine.html)

I'm using an old system (F11 x64 & mysqld v5.1.47) that cannot be easily upgraded.

A workaround would be to use a mysqld v5.1.47 version compiled with the '--with-big-tables' flag.

Is there somewhere a binary compiled with this option, that could be used 'as is' in F11 x64 ?

If not, what are the default compiling parameters that were used in F11 to build the repo ? I could add '--with-big-tables' to these parameters, and recompile from source.

Many thanks for your help.

Olivier.

Re: mysqld --with-big-tables : binary for F11?

Fedora 11 is EOL for a very very long time.
I don't provide new RPM for this version.
I strongly recommend to upgrade.

Latest MySQL version available in remi repo was 5.5.25

Laptop:  Fedora 38 + rpmfusion + remi (SCL only)
x86_64 builder: Fedora 39 + rpmfusion + remi-test
aarch64 builder: RHEL 9 with EPEL
Hosting Server: CentOS 8 Stream with EPEL, rpmfusion, remi

Thanks for your quick response.

I know I have to upgrade, but as I say, it's not that easy...

What's about the compiling parameters that were used / are still used ?

Also, is '--with-big-tables' now a default compiling parameter in the latest mysqld Fedora repo ?.

Re: mysqld --with-big-tables : binary for F11?

AFAIK big tables is a default (upstream) option in 5.5 (or, in fact, is not anymore an option)

From http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.5/en/ … ngine.html
"There is a limit of (232)2 (1.844E+19) rows in a MyISAM table. "

Laptop:  Fedora 38 + rpmfusion + remi (SCL only)
x86_64 builder: Fedora 39 + rpmfusion + remi-test
aarch64 builder: RHEL 9 with EPEL
Hosting Server: CentOS 8 Stream with EPEL, rpmfusion, remi

Great - That IS a good incentive to upgrade!

Thanks.
