Topic: RHEL/CentOS Downgrade Release 5.5 to 5.4?

Bonjour,

Is it possible to downgrade from RHEL/CentOS 5.5 to to 5.4? :/
I've been scouring the internet and have yet to come up with anything sound.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Joel

Re: RHEL/CentOS Downgrade Release 5.5 to 5.4?

One of our customers has engaged me in a bureaucratic morass about which version of Red Hat Dell officially supports.
I'm looking at having to fly there and reinstall the OS from a backup image if I can't figure out a way to do this via rpm uninstalls or YUM commands (or anything else) to previous versions.  Most information/blogs I've come across usually have a similar response of "Why? It's stupid!"  I agree completely.

I'm using CENTOS 5.5 as my test environment currently.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Joel

Well... just force reinstall of redhat-release.... (from 5.4 DVD) your client will be happy to see "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.4 (Tikanga)"

Yeah, i needed the same thing. It seems the NSA doesnt approve of 5.5 and the company buying our product want us to downgrade it back to 5.4. thanks!

I really don't understand such question...

Current version is 5.7, which includes a lot of security fixes.
