Topic: EL7 EOL Repo Support

Hi,

We use PHP 8.1 from the Remi EL7 repo. Are we correct in assuming that there will be no further updates in the EL7 repo past June 2024, or will this repo receive updates until the EOL date for PHP 8.1?

Thanks!

Re: EL7 EOL Repo Support

Indeed, EL-7 repo will be closed after June and no more update

It doesn't make sense to provide security fixes for PHP  on a unmaintained system.

Laptop:  Fedora 38 + rpmfusion + remi (SCL only)

aarch64 builder: RHEL 9 with EPEL

Re: EL7 EOL Repo Support

Thanks you - that makes sense.

Re: EL7 EOL Repo Support

Hello,

We are currently running on Amazon Linux 2 which is supported until June of 2025.

We do however add the EPEL and Remi for some other packages.  Just so I understand, will the EL-7 repo be shutdown completely or just available with no new updates in June?

I understand I need to move and move quickly.  I just am trying to understand exactly what will happen in June.

Re: EL7 EOL Repo Support

The repo will stay available with no updates (as the one for EL-6)

P.S. but notice that EPEL-7 will be moved to archive

Ex for EPEL-6:https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/6/README
