Topic: rpmdev-setuptree " command not found"

I am trying to Install PHP 5.3 according to the guide http://blog.famillecollet.com/post/2010 … -php-5.3.5

- I have add a new user "phpbuilder"
- I have loged in with the new user "phpbuilder"
- then when I am giving the command "rpmdev-setuptree" appears following message
"bash: rpmdev-setuptree: command not found"

What can I do?

my system is CentOS 5 / Linux 2.6.18-028stab070.4 /
current PHP version is 5.1.6

hope for support and thanks in advance for replies.

Re: rpmdev-setuptree " command not found"

Do you really need "parallel" installation of php 5.3 ?
Because, just updating to php 5.3 is easier (just yum update it)

Do you really need to build the package ?
Because binary RPM for EL-5 (x86_64) are available

Do you know yum ?

yum whatprovides '*/rpmdev-setuptree'
Laptop:  Fedora 38 + rpmfusion + remi (SCL only)
x86_64 builder: Fedora 39 + rpmfusion + remi-test
aarch64 builder: RHEL 9 with EPEL
Hosting Server: CentOS 8 Stream with EPEL, rpmfusion, remi
